It is a Dutch sports award. It certainly existed on paper and is not a fantasy.

I am unsure about the one posted. Some like them, some don't. I have never handled one so I don't feel qualified to comment more. I would be a little concerned that suddenly there are these on the market, when previously most books could only offer a line drawing of one.

sounds a bit like the notorious ss trumpet banners. they hadn't been encountered before (well, maybe 1 or 2 in the world?); then mollo's book comes out in the early '70s showing DRAWINGS. and suddenly you're seeing them in suspicious numbers at shows...

but in this case the appearance of one (so far!) doesn't appear all that concerning. what does is the lack of period fotos. on the other hand - I'm running out of them - dutch ss men weren't keen to hold on to their "evidence," either.
