REAL OR FAKE SS VISOR with green trim

my dad has been an axis dagger collector for many years and has had this visor since the 60s in his collection , the person who he got it froms dad was in active service druring ww2 but we its one of thse items weve always been on fence as to if its a good one or not?, not being a hat collector was wondering if the forum could offer an opinion, a couple of things there are no markings at all on visor and the white trim looks to be fishbone style weave..hopefully my pics are good enough to show this

Not an original visor, for sure. Pretty much everything is wrong: materials, piping, insignia... take a look at the many fine examples in this forum and you will easily see the differences.

Note the difference in piping and construction. As stated above, materials, insignia, methods of manufacture are not consistent with surviving period examples and documents outlining construction techniques.
