Reichsführung-SS officer photograph
I found an interesting picture of an SS officer attached to the Reichsführung-SS. I do not have the legal permission to post the picture here directly, but the picture can be found from the link below:

This officer has his other collar tab censored, which would indicate that there is a symbol in there. But I thought that Reichsführung-SS officers would wear a blank collar tab? Can anyone explain this?

He's a Waffen-SS officer who has been detailed or transferred to the Reichsführung. As such, he surely retained his runic collar patch.

The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Thank you, I thought that could be the case, since the man has an iron cross second class and a wound badge to indicate that he's been in combat.

One more thing, would a Waffen-SS officer retain his runic collar patch no matter where in the SS he was transferred to, for example, the Sicherheitsdienst?

It would depend on the circumstances of his assignment: If he was discharged from the Waffen-SS and fully taken into, say, the SD or the Allgemeine SS, he would have to adopt their insignia.
If he remained a Waffen-SS member, he would retain his W-SS insignia.
