    This overcoat belonged to Dr. Heinrich Brubacher. he was N S D A P member #1048 and S S member #2479. Brubacher was the recipient of the S S Degen and the S S Totenkopf Ring. He was also a recipient of the Gold Party Badge.
    This overcoat was taken out of Brubacher's residence in Munich by a French Army intellegence officer in the Spring of 1945.

    Very nice and rare item, I think there not all of them in the collector's hands... Still a lot of hidden in the atticks of Eastern Germany....And of cause most of them are lost in the garbage....

    The officer also took Brubacher's personal S S papers. The photograph of Brubacher is from that file. Note the doctor's trade insignia, unit cufftitle and the alterkampferwinkel.

    You are correct in your assesment. I have a wonderful Totenkopf officer's tunic that was located by a collector in 1989 in Weimar, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Many things continue to be found by house cleaners and pickers.

    That is a stunning item Bob. Once again made all the better given the history behind it. I love it!

    I think greatcoats are very under rated items.
