I had thought that the complete Montur of such an item--the eagle, the box, the pole, and the flag--cost in the vicinity of USD 200,000.

Thus, the price of this item strikes me as hardly outrageous.

I am not buying it, mind you.

My purpose is to show real material.

I double checked with Bob Coleman, who agrees that a high market price for such a complete flag with its many components is a healthy six figure sum.

Don't get me wrong, I do not collect these things. I am weary of the site being filled up with the chirpy "is it real?" posts that then go south in the process.

Nor am I waging class war on the beginning collector.

There is an upswing in interesting objects on offer, and I wish to register this fact.
