Attachment 802522Attachment 802509leather peak. The RZM tag may have been torn out, as it is not present. Or, the cap never had an RZM tag, as having been made before the requirement to place such tags. Do not use the phrase "pre-RZM" as the RZM existed when this cap was made.
This is an astonishing cap. The cap is worn, but not worn out, and it has a remarkable patina.
    This particular hat is fantastic

Im sure ive seen a white top like these, would that be correct or would it have been fake?
The cap with the white top emerged in unofficial form ca. 1936, and officially in 1939. At which time, the shape of the cap had become the more familiar saddle form.

This cap in this thread above is from 1933-34, maybe even 1932. I do not know for certain. With its badges, it is as worn from 1934 onwards.

I enclose my friend Paul Sack's white cap ex the property of Karl Wolff.
    damit, basta.

I think so, too. I recalled it from an earlier date when it first darted by.

The person who had it has refined taste.

You have to pay close attention with all these things.

And there is a rather small supply of such items, at least it strikes me as such.
    damit, basta.

In Attachement a Picture of such a cap in wear - not a officer cap but the same style. I bought the pic short time ago on a flea market. The Picture is dated on the back side: 17.07.1933Click image for larger version.

Thanks. Very nice image and a significant date. The person must have just joined the SS.

An interesting study. I wonder what this man thought at said moment, and what became of him?

The SS grew rapidly after 30 January 1933 and then Himmler winnowed out the ranks in 1935.

You have yet again acquired another outstanding cap, FB. Thanks for sharing it with us, as it is always a pleasure to such a fine visor cap.

    Cheers, Patrick
