As comparison, I have some shadow of a doubt with your badge. Colleague Hritz is the man for this kind of thing.Click image for larger version.

In addition to the minute examination of the alu wire embroidery is the textile of the badge cloth. The fakers do not get the latter right.

The piece I illustrate here was for a Gestapa veteran who served in the Gestapo in Koeln, infamous for its viciousness against the Jewish population of said great city on the Rhine.
The man was offered SS rank in the great Dienstgradausgleich of 1938 with the further SS penetration of career police members....all too droll and creepy.

The modern literature on SD, Sipo, and Gestapo from the research center in Ludwigsburg is top flight.

Tell us, then, whether the textile seems like proper badge cloth, i.e. the feel of same?
Of course, you might think my question insane, but I compare these to others in the flesh, in the cloth, as at least one criterion of examination....

This item is identical to that on said uniform I illustrated.
Colleague Hritz is the man to whom I would turn, but he seems elsewhere at the moment.

This one might be real, too. I hear a loud silence otherwise.Name: 45455d1247279284-sd-uniform-black-before-war-9-sd-raute-x-.jpg

Dear Sir, I think the pieces I have included diverge from yours, but I am not an expert in these badges. I own two on uniforms, to be sure, but that is hardly an insignia collection. Maybe Mr. Hritz will report in at some point and give you a solid answer. On the world war relics site, Mr. Felix of Scandinavia is also a fine scholar of this material. best wishes, FB
