Hi fellow members,
I thought I would share this with you because it caught my eye this evening.
The following insert (SCHULTERSTUCKE OBERSTURMFUHRER mit LAH Auflagen - EUR 1.500,00 | PicClick DE) looks pretty interesting to me because it seems so surreal (price tag EUR1,500). I have attached some pictures below...
1) The shoulder boards seem to be from the Kriegsmarine (with the typical braid colour and texture which could also well be cellon if I’m not mistaken) while the white “rayon” piping seems to have been glued onto the boards (and the texture reminds me that of replica items).
2) For the cyphers I’m less sure but they seem too bulky, in a sense that I believe they should actually be taller (ie show more length than breadth). They remind me a lot at what can be purchased on the Regalia Specialist’s website and it seems like the cyphers have not been pressed but casted.
3) Looking at the other articles offered by this eBayer (2011lukymann2011 Alle Kategorien | PicClick DE), it seems like a specialty of his to mark up the price of old NVA shoulder boards with diverse cyphers and also wrong (because obviously coming from NVA boards) shoulder pips. Within what he has on offer I would only “trust” the Flak and the Kriegsmarine shoulder boards and that only after taking the pips down...
So here my questions:
What do you think of that (do you agree with my analysis)? What would you do (is there a way to alert eBay of a serial scammer)? I have alerted for a few items once in a while but I am not sure this is yielding fruits.
