I just was informed about this as it was posted on another forum, but the link to where it was exposed is from the WAF. Words fail me on this.

A stripped tunic was said to have been carefully restored and then was recently sold and has been cut to pieces and sold as cut offs. If this is true I am shocked at this fakery and wanton act of vandalism.

What would possess someone to do this? Surely it's worth less this way?

Apparently not Doug, the sum of the parts as cutoffs appears to total more than the tunic was previously sold for, as cut offs attract a premium.

I don't understand this either. Would it have more monetary value cutting it to pieces?

This is horrible. I am truly upset by this. A piece of history cut up for the best price.

You'd have thought they would of done a better job cutting it up. What did they use...a butter knife???

Destroying a rare piece of history should be illegal, unfortunately I can believe that some people would do this. People will do anything for a quick buck.
