SS Abzeichen - What does represent ?

Hello Gentlemen,
Came across this metal SS Badge, do members know what's it represents or is it a fantasy piece? I've included a picture along side a wound badge to give members a idea of the scale. The clip has a number 582 stamped on it. Any information welcome.

I have not seen such a piece before and cannot understand the wide prong, on the reverse. I am most suspicious about it's authenticity.

looks as it might be a money clip,with the clip being so wide.

Thanks for the reply,I take it, if it was money clip, then used only by SS pay corp, its not a thing I imagine, a field SS soldier would carry on his person ?
