I just saw this very cheap on a german online marketplace,
it's almost to good to be true, or isn't it?

I would be happy about any information about it...

As far as I know, the Waffen-SS did not field troops in North Africa.

But what could it be if not SS?
Luftwaffe? Wehrmacht/Heer?
If I pay it for 250€ is it good or bad? ;-)

I'm afraid I'm not knowledgeable enough in this field to be of any more help. Uniforms are not one of my areas of focus, unfortunately. It is an odd-looking piece for sure.

There is no evidence that the Waffen-SS was ever in Africa but I believe an SD unit operated out of Tunisia. Could this uniform be political?

There was a show on TV talking about Rommel's gold. They said the SS officers went to a town in Tunisia and forced the Jewish occupants to turn over so much gold to spare the Jewish population. Also there is this article about an SS diver who helped hide the good.

True or not that is another story. But it did mention SS in Africa theater of operations
Is this uniform shown SS or another organization, I will leave to the experts in this field.
