The construction of this kampfbinde is unlike any SS armband I have seen that is period. From the images, it appears to be another product of the 4th Reich.

I believe these are actually good. The construction is the same as the regular woven NSDAP armbands which are certainly original. A friend who is an advanced SS collector owns one and is happy they are good.

Indeed, i have never seen a constructed example such as this one. I would have been taking this for a fake as well.

The cotton kampfbinde was worn only on the brownshirt. The bevo form of armband was used exstensivley by other political formations on their brown shirts. I have never encountered a SS one. My thoughts are this is a period bevo piece with the black stripes added. An in hand inspection would certainly clarify the issue. Without that possibility, I must still retain my negative position on this piece.

Hi Bob, it looks like the stripes are integral to the weave process so I don't think they were added. Our mutual friend Gary W thinks these were designed for wear on the Brownshirt too.

To me it looks good anougth, even a strange
