Hello friends...I am needing a belt buckle and belt for my WSS Field Uniform. A guy in my home town is offering this one for 300.00 and say he will give me a money back guarantee if I find out it is not authentic. Please let me know what you think...GOOD or BAD??

Very nice. I'll take it if you don't want it. I think the others here can direct you to the type of buckle worn later in the war. That's a very nice, early buckle in fine shape. The price is a complete steal, in fact.

I turned down $600 on a common nickel O & C in about the same condition a few months ago. A full inscription O&C should bring at least 50% more $900. I have one and I wouldn't sell it for that but that's what I would be willing to pay if I didn't have one.
