SS Black tunic

Article about: by BOB COLEMAN Donnie- Any dealer who would purport this tunic to be an original is either totally ignorant or not to be trusted on anything. There are so many errors in this piece such as i

    Similar to these here in the 21st century.

    Sta 83= Giessen
    Sta 58=Koeln/Bonn
    Sta 85= Saarbruecken

    by the way, all where US troops were stationed or flourished in the years after 1945, thus allowing these items to reach collectors' mitts.

    Say what you will, but the tailoring bill for these men in 1935 or 1936 was much less than a mortal will pay today for said foetid woolens.

    SS uniforms are such a grey area for me that this thread has really taught me a lot. Thanks for taking the time to share the photos FB.

    I am sure seeing an original SS tunic in hand will be the only way to learn the finer details. Hopefully it wont be long before I can do that, and I feel sorry for who ever I am with for going to have to put up with all my questions.

    I liked this thing so much I bought it, for which I thank my friend in Texas and Bob Hritz, as well, who enabled me to do so.
