I have always attributed this collar patch to the short lived Panzer Abwehr Abteilung der SS-VT und SS-TV although I don't recall any specific documentation at the moment. Certainly the Gothic 'P' has been identified as being worn on the shoulderboards of that unit.

My memory had deceived me: The Pioniersturmbann had a crossed shovel-and-pickaxe device!
