Do let me say, in case any doubt adheres, that my colleague in Texas is a very senior collector with excellent material, and experience reaching back across the same
span of time as my own. I hold him in the very highest esteem.

I am pretty sure that is a fake cuff title, but I will let David Delich have the last word.

    as promised....

".....I have checked out the "Reichsfuhrer-SS" cuff title, and agree with
you. I believe it to be of postwar manufacture. The hand-embroidery
appears to be on a woven RZM-style base with the often-seen 7 aluminum
strands in the borders, but that feature does not make it authentic or
reproduction. It's the quality of manufacture and the style of embroidery
that causes one to suspect it. The execution and placement of the letters,
although fairly-well done, does not compare to the excellent craftsmanship
of the authentic specimens in the many collections I have seen. For one,
some letters are placed higher then others, and some lower. In other
words, all are not resting on a static horizontal line. Secondly, the piece
of material covering the embroidery on the reverse side is of an incorrect
type, whose edges are not sewn up to keep the edges from fraying.
Of the literally thousands of original photos I have seen and studied, I
have never witnessed this style of embroidery. If the piece is, over the
years proved to be genuine by the discovery of original era photos
or other documentation, I would be forced to conclude that it is the
product of a private tailor who made the piece on special order for
a customer. Until then, I must consider it to be suspect...."

David Delich sends warm greetings to our colleague in Texas.
