I love cutoff insignia, Vastly better than mint unissued items. The Beaver Bondo book shows lots of cutoff insignia. Great book if you don't already have a copy.
just out of my ignorance, I thought the camo skulls where only on camouflage caps?

Why not just take the whole cap?
The seller wanted more for the whole cap so I just cut the skull off.... Just kidding
I would also like to know more about this variation. It looks great in hand but I have been hard pressed to find another example on the internet. It came out of a Ebay lot for $80.00 so I don't have much invested. The seller didn't know what the skull was and she said her uncle was a WWII vet and he brought this back from the war along with a Wehrmacht belt buckle. I am 99% sure that the skull is original but I'd love to know more! Here's a picture of the ebay lot.....
