    Steve,

    The Germans used the J quite often on the tags or wrtitten docs to represent the I of Infanterie.

    The problem on this one is they have used the J at the end to represent the 1 as well , looks like a bit of a schoolboy error.

    Plus T Div Divisonal level replacement units would most likely end in a 3 not a 1 or if a Regimental replacement Btl it would follow the Regimental numbers which for the Totenkopf Infanterie Regiments would be 5 or 6 !! Hope that makes sense ??

    Not sure yet mate , i don't think me and Mick are having a stall at the moment but if not will try and come down for a chat and look round

    There are books on the German tags, but in case you're lazy, like me. Here is an excellent site on what to look for, this site has so much information in it.........enjoy
