    Even back then that is not a cheap price considering a Honda Civic sold for $4000 new back then.

    You are right. It was not cheap at all. People of the time around me thought I was quite nuts. Little has changed. Money bought something, as well.

    And the consensus is still the same in my age group of non collectors but I trudge on none the less.

    I wonder why these knots are described so often as sword knots for men and NCOs. Men were not entitled to wear a sword.

    Your lament is part of the generalized imprecision when it comes to terms, which is universal. My favorite thing of contempt at the moment is the normal brassard with the SS RZM tag which is wrongly called an overcoat arm band, that is, the brassard without the black stripes. The list could be extended ad nauseum.
