Hey, don`t feel bad. I have an SS pin just like yours, well almost. It is a little different on the back. I got mine from an old German woman at a flea market back in the early 90`s. She was married to a U.S. Airman who somehow manage to "liberate" a lot of WWII German items. I got an IAB,PAB,Sports Award, SA pin and a few other items that are real and have been verified. I had bought a box full of assorted stuff from her and when I saw the SS pin I thought that since it came from her it was real. Didn`t loose any money as I was buying the box as lot and all the other stuff was good. Be careful with all SS items, just too many fakes and some are well made. Always check with the experts here before a purchase if possible. They know their stuff.
