Default SS Germanic Proficiency Badge (Germanische Leistungsrune) - Opinions?

I recently stumbled across an SS Germanic Proficiency Badge that looks pretty convincing to me... It seems to have the proper mounting system for the runes, and the angles of the sun wheel ends look right. There are no maker's marks on the backside, which is a good sign, and it has that characteristic convex shape. However, I've never seen one with such a thin catch for the clasp. What do you guys think? Is this an authentic piece?

I did a search here and this is what I came up with. You can do a little research. There are some copies posted as well as some originals.

    It works for me.
I went to the main page, SS Uniforms and Insignia, hit the "search forum" button and typed in "Germanische, Leistungsrune"

Am fairly certain said item is an old stinker from my youth. Commonly seen in the 1970s.

That's a shame... I've seen a number of fakes, and this was by far the most convincing. It wasn't an item I was thinking of purchasing -- I was merely curious. Thanks, guys!

They are getting better every year, but the small details still give it away as bad. Try this link if the other isn't working:
