One reads much about the mess dress with the funny badge. Here is its adjunct, in an actual photograph. Does anyone have an example to show us from their collection? I know they are illustrated in the Beaver books, but perhaps a surprise awaits us?

Social event in a less formal order of dress.... Here are men of Standarte 6 (i.e. Charlottenburg or Eduard Felsen..) Contrast the polite circumstances of Berlin's chic western neighborhood with the rustic charm of the image below.

ID:	482495Since I began this thread around five years ago, Bruce Herman sold one, as well, that was quite impressive.

The one i posted is likely a high end reproduction, it currently belongs to a friend but i will try to get better photos.

Here's another one for you gentlemen, attributed to non other than Karl Wolff. I do not have any other photos of this one,
believe it sold through a US auction house a few years ago.

Edit: F-B, that is one GREAT piece of clothing !

Please note the item I posted via Herman is not my property.

POSTSCRIPTUM Thanks for the addendum to the effect that the one post contains a reproduction. I rather thought so, but I wanted someone else to do the honors.

These things are usually made to the perfection typical of the era, i.e. Christian Schwarz & Sohn in Munich was a renowned uniform tailor whose products are exception.
    damit, basta.
