Though the item in the original post is probably a reproduction(the spacing between the runes don't match the example in the photograph), this thread still serves as a great example of the "unknown" to many and why we shouldn't dismiss "strange items" if we are not certain of them either way and have never seen them before.
Kirby, that is a wonderful picture, thank you for posting it. Without it I too would've believed this item to be a 4th Reich fantasy piece.
