SS Great Coat Question
So, today in an antique store, I ran across a German greatcoat (the coat itself was definitely authentic, no question about it) with an SS sleeve eagle (which was also definitely authentic). The coat was the average issue - greyish green with darker green collar and regulation buttons. The coat however, was missing the shoulder boards. Anyway, on the inside of the coat, in the area where the maker's mark and size of the coat are stamped, there was a small stamped circle with SS runes in it, about the size of a large pinhead. This stamp was darker than the size and maker's mark stamp. Anyway, my question is, is this small SS stamp authentic to SS great coats? Has anyone seen one? I passed on the item, because obviously the two pieces could have been combined, but overall, the price was still quite low...Any help would be great.

Re: SS Great Coat Question
I have never seen such a stamp originally applied to a tunic or coat.

Nor have I, but Mr. Hritz knows more than I.

Re: SS Great Coat Question
The tag found in issued black SS over coats is in the RZM SS tag thread found elsewhere. The issue stamps of the Verwaltungsamt SS are also present there. All of these are faked, but we have included what we deem to be authentic ones.
