What makes him think it is SS? It lacks the quality seen in period enamel stick pins in my opinion. I have never seen a stick pin of this pattern before and see nothing to relate it to the SS.

Bob, the markings on the stick are that of the 19th SS Latvian Div. Other than that, I have no idea.... I do like the spiral grooves on the pin itself. I just am stumped, stick pins are not my expertise.
At best, this is a post war Vets association item. Personally I would pass on it.

Yes this is most certainly a post war Latvian SS Veterans stick pin , my avatar is a similar post war Estonian veterans badge for SS Btl Narva,

during ww2 this sign has been used as tactical sighn for latvian ss div!Everybody can use google ,write-TACTICAL SIGHNS OF LETT SS DIV.-and find out what this sighn is about>there you will easy find out that this sighn always been created and related to ss. I believe it,s post war veterans pin! Enyway it,s nice and i would be interested for that if it,s for sell.
