Martin have you looked into finding the name and place(Addy/ city/state) of the names on that flag to see if that person has passed? If they have passed away you can find the obituary of one of the names and most of the times when it concerns a Vet's, They mention who or where he served. Just something to research. Its the best part of this hobby!

Men have always been proud of their home towns. Military units contained men from all over the country and some were fiercely loyal and proud of their origins. One only has to look at the endless graffiti throughout Europe. It was there way of saying that they were there and some one to be remembered, is all.
