    Hi there.

I can't help with authenticity, but I would read the unit abbreviation as SS. Pz. Aufkl. Ausb. u. Ers. Abt. 1 = SS Panzer Aufklärungs Ausbildungs und Ersatz Abteilung 1. 10614 is the soldiers roll number.

    Lexikon der Wehrmacht

    Kind regards,

    Will.

Does it have anything on the other side? Would expect it to be marked Waffen SS. The use of a pz instead of a Pz is a query. The unit is correctly written. I don't have an example to compare but it has a chance. High rollnummer expected for this unit.

Very strange engrave with the use of different kind of graphic characters used for the SS.
The rear engrave it's similar to the "Nordland" and/or "Wiking" tags bat without the runes.
The number 1 (abt.) is the same used for the rollnummer. Usually (not always) it is not a good sign.
Also the upper holes appear artificial aged.
According with the fact that the judgment is trought a pic, it do not convince me.
