Hi Pat,
I had an identical set of gaiters given to me from an old chap I used to shoot with, he was an ex Guards officer and JP, but they were not German but British made. It appears that the original size of these has been overstamped by spurious SS and RZM stamps imo, and I would personally avoid them like the plague, but better wait for other opinions I guess.
Regards, Ned.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.
Last Entry - For God's sake look after our people.'
In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.
Once again, Ned 'heads them off at the pass' and rides to the rescue!
Thank you very much Ned, I appreciate it greatly.
Patrick, save your money.
Look for these instead.

or....
You'll be happier.
However, I have now enabled the creation of better fakes.
There is also a leather stamp with metal, too, but these are now widely faked.
Thank you FB, will do.
Again I appreciate it greatly.

15-20 years ago Manion's had 3-4 SS stamps for marking leather. I remember them selling for $600-800 each. I bet they have paid off well over the years.
