On the book "Karstjager" just published by Editions Heimdal there are several pictures of SS-GJ wearing Heer cap and sleeve edelweiss even after october 1943, so against regulations.
Many Karstjaeger members were former "Nord" members, by the way.
Himmler was kinda upset by the use against regulations by WSS alpine troops of the solid Heer cap edelweiss (usually on black backing tissue) and banned this habit in 1942 or 1943 if I remember well.
Starting from october 1943 all WSS alpine troopers had to wear the proper WSS cloth edelweiss, so the Heer type were gradually replaced.
