SS Mountain Troops cap edelweiss?

I bought this off ebay a while back. I've see pictures of SS cloth edelweiss for the M43 and for some reason the petals look different. Is it fake? I've also tested it under black light for new fibers and all thread and cloth are organic.

I don't actually own one but it looks ok to me - my opinion is krap though!
Macro shots would immensely help on this for the pros

I'm not sure that both are genuine my wife says that the second is too bright

Sorry it is a fake. The back is totally incorrect. It should not have this white backing for the embroidery. Actually, without being facetious, the front is wrong too. Compare to Nick's example.

i've checked all my books searching for pictures but all of the edelweiss that i see have the detail like what i see with nicks example. thanks for your help guys.

it seems odd that they wouldn't make a fake look more like the real thing, i put it under the black light and all fibers are pre synthetic. paid $10 for it not too much of a loss.
