    Personally, I like this cap very much but I also know from experience that some collectors will be very nervous of the lining material. So, I think it's very brave of Mauro to show it and I thank him for doing so.

    I might have got this next observation completely wrong, forgive me if I have but does this lining material have Italian origins? I think I read many years ago that this blue/grey material was considered to be associated with period Regia Aeronautica cloth?

    no problem! Imo this lining it's fully acceptable, i like it moreover on early m43. I saw some unquestionable m43 caps with a lining like this that you can found on other German stuffs.
    If you want i will send you pictures where you could examine lining sewing / bulding methods.

    Another handsome piece with patina from a fine collection. What a nice contrast in these images to the endless parade of ludicrous field caps made the day before yesterday and foisted on a credulous and helpless public in an unending stream of garish pictures.

    Imo it is a very normal lining, which is one side colored ( reverse is white), that is the same methodic used on the same way as applyed on camouflage
