when considering the original runes posted, strict attention must be paid to both the geometry and quality of embroidery of said runes when comparing them to the original examples kindly posted by our friend, Friedrich-Berthold who, in doing so, has made the whole thread the study that it should be.

Size: 32.5 KBThanks. I do not collect loose insignia; rather I collect black uniforms with insignia. There are many images of real collar tabs that require little effort to add here and proffer more value than the kind of post that obscures more than it conveys.

It is not mine, but I would give it a good home, but someone else got it.....

Notice the wear to the badge cloth, what others call moleskin, but which was and remains a nearly 100% woolen.

that your insignia, Friedrich-Berthold, reside in your collection in situ is a testament to your role as a true curator of history and it is largely because of the efforts of collectors such as yourself that many are afforded a rare glimpse of these artifacts in context. this is, in my mind, a much larger thing than my words here express.
