I don't like the insignia nor sweatband, which is usually black.

i agree with ade, this is definately one i would stay well clear of. the insignia is the biggest giveaway.

Yes the totenkopf looks bad to me as far as the design. I am not an expert with the rest of the item but I try to know my favorite pieces which in this case is the totenkopf.

I agree with the above comments - the insignia is bad......................!

There is a Fraternal or Masonic group called the 'Shriners' who continue
to wear this type of fez today. It would be easy to apply repro insignia
to a fairly recent one, as could be the case here.
