Up until this point I have collected German 'steel hats' almost exclusively, but I have found an increasing interest in the cloth headgear of the SS. When the time comes for me to purchase one of these hats, your various informative threads will be invaluable learning tools.

It amuses me that the firm C&A is associated with this material. I had always connected them with grandmothers and slightly unfashionable thermal underwear.
