ID:	481141This contrast of Schulterstuecke for the black SS uniform interests me. That is, the type of board with four strands versus that with six strands......of silver or alu. wire cord. Click image for larger version.

Please don't be so harsh with yourself. I think the image is wonderful. Very pleasing and far better than mine, to be sure.

    Question

The 1935 RZM tag would have been a later issue in that year. I thought 1936 was when RZM really made the scene? Thanks for helping me understand more on early RZM's. FB once again dazzles with awesome pics!

The RZM emerged from the SA quartermaster system in 1 9 2 8. These black woven tags emerged in the years 1934/5, unless evidence appears otherwise. In 1934, even before the break with the SA in the Roehm Revolte, the SS embarked on the process of standardizing its insignia amid its rapid growth with the Nazi party state in the Gleischaltung. This theme we have treated in dozens if not more threads with RZM circulars as well as Mr. d'Alquen's documents from the RFSS files and the SS Befehlsblaetter in their detail.
The Bender magazine also had an article about these tags in the early 1990s which repays reading in detail.
