Re: SS Signals arm badge, Nachrichten Aermelraute?
My mentor posed this query ".....may be an
undocumented SS communications badge for
radio, telegraph, or whatever. It is hand-embroidered
in white rayon or silk thread on black wool. In
size, it matches many of my other SS raute. Since
I have seen no other examples, it obviously is NOT
one 1000 fakes flooding the market, or shows.
It is expertly-made.
Would you wager it to be a privately-made piece
for the wearer, or one of a few prototypes made for
short-term use, etc.?
Possibly it is a common emblem used by some
other organization, country, etc. and would nothing
to do with the SS....? "
Who among you has the relevant data?

Re: SS Signals arm badge, Nachrichten Aermelraute?
Though I rarely comment on SS items, assumed or otherwise, I have to say that the quality of the embroidery looks a bit poor when compared with the similar Heer Funkmeister patch, but that is not what you are asking so maybe I should refrain from posting this.

Jerry
Whatever
its just an opinion.

Thank you for the useful observation.

Re: SS Signals arm badge, Nachrichten Aermelraute?
Greetings. There is some simiarity in the motiff design to Luft telegraph typist insignia or air-raid warning personnel. So, at a wild guess, I would say signals telegraphist. Regards, Paul
