I can´t speak for the tunic itself but IMO the insignia is fake.

I believe the price can tell you all you need to know about authenticity
This one normally would cost a few thousand dollars.

..thanks for your input...the price is at a reserve of $1600...hoping to get $2500...sounds a bit low if this was a genuine tunic.

./..gee thats why i dont collect german uniforms anymore....its very hard to find untouched original pieces...most are in museums and advanced collections etc.....if one does come up it would be huge $$$$$....any that do seem to be fakes im just getting sick of the worry and uncertainy in such items now....takes a really good experienced person (which i am not) to filter through the crap....

Not necessarily. It just won't be ss. You can find many authentic mint examples. And in good prices too.
For example i got an infantry mint of the mints waffenrock (parade tunic) from an American member for $800.
