Re: SS Uniform
Well it is my tunic, and I got it from a Military dealer in Australia. He got it off a Waffen ss Uniform dealer in Germany.

Re: SS Uniform
Any labels or markings inside ? Who wore this ?
Did it cost the price of a used 3 to 5 year old
mid-size passenger car.........?

Re: SS Uniform
No no labels or markings in side. A German dealer told me that some don't have labels. And yes it was a four figure price

Re: SS Uniform
is it real or not? Does anybody else have any opinions

Re: SS Uniform
The sleeve insignia has a funny shaped head....I believe it's "pigeon headed".... I know this is one of the ways you can tell a fake buckle from a real one and I have heard of it being found on SS insignia

Re: SS Uniform
Hi Nick, and welcome to the forum!
I wish I had better news. I would return this tunic for a refund.
The whole thing is a higher end fake in my opinion.
While "AMTG" is slightly mistaken on the terminology, he is on the right track. The eagle is a known fake. These first started appearing in the late 1980's in shows in Germany. Prior to that, this pattern had never been seen or documented before. They were made by the Karl Sieder Company in Vienna. The eagles head, bullion used on the swastika etc is very distinctive. Bear in mind these are hand made, so some detail will vary from example to example. But remember that head shape. Most fake tunics from the early 1990's had these eagles on them. It is only in the past 5 or 6 years since word really got out about these that they have stopped being used.
Cheers, Ade.
