    Hello Gentlemen,
It has been a while since I posted a thread asking for an oppinion on an item, but it is not often I get an SS item, if this one gets the approval then this will probably be my first SS item. After comparing to originals, I am almost certain these are original, but I would be obliged if you could help me out.

    My Best regards, Patrick

M 5 /75 = Dr Francke & Cie, Luedenscheid. I would be careful with these items. Does not Reddick in Texas make fakes of this type?

Thank you, I do think so. Authentic ones of the early type found on SS uniforms are without the SS mark. I have many such, which I have illustrated above, but I do not have good images of the back. Reddick of Texas makes these, I think, or someone else. The pebbling is incorrect, it is not wildmatt, but of the style used in the armed forces. Later SS buttons had this pebbling, indeed, but usually have VA SS contract numbers.

Our young master Patrick has great ambitions, which we applaud, but the pit falls are pretty great, especially in the digital market place where everything is faked.

Indeed, something plain and simple as a single button could be
a rather expensive blunder - I would guess these are not
    cheap if advertised as genuine.........

Reddick makes lots of stuff, but the firm is hardly alone any longer, as it is impossible to keep track of all the firms and figures making every bit of Nazi regalia in its variety.

Real SS buttons are rare, but I do not collect them loose, but in the ensemble, as it were.....

    Good Morning,

Well that is sad, my mum and dad said they would buy them for me for my good grades at school. Thank you for telling me they are fake before they were bought.
Its hard trying to find somthing SS that I could buy. And even buttons are faked.

    Cheers, Patrick

Take your time Patrick - be patient - I know it's tough to do so at your age,
but eventually you will find a good original SS item for your collection.
    Regards,

    Steve.
