P.S. Were caps ever made with Pig-skin sweatbands? Or is it just a faker thing.

The RZM specifications ca 1936 speak of either Schafsleder, sheepskin, or Ersatz for all NSDAP headwear and that of its branches.
What the posture of things was a few years later in the stringency of wartime is something else entirely.
One can see that this is a fake cap other than the odd sweat band, but I have seen heavily textured, real sweat bands of leather and such.
No serious collector would suspect this cap of authenticity who has worked the threads for longer than a half an hour.

This cap of mine had a pig skin like sweat band, actually. This cap has made its way in the world among elite, prestige collectors since its ownership by me....in 1998.

The cap is a horrendous fake at the top. But one thing I noticed with this branch of fake is the lumpy sweatband. But there are countless things wrong with it as well.
