Not just that, the SS didn't wear divisional patches.
Some Divisions wore cuff titles, but this wasn't universal, they also used ciphers on shoulder boards for some elite units.
Numbered runic collars where also worn for a short period in the early Waffen SS.
SS insignia is a very complex area of collecting, not for the faint of heart.
As said above, a silly post-war fabrication with no basis in reality.
Many such divisional shield patches are available, all of them are fantasy pieces.
(SS divisional shields were used as vehicle markings, but never as cloth insignia.)
