Signature should be that of SS-Brigadeführer August Schmidhuber, have you any more info on SS Standartenfuhrer Deutsch ?

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

In March 1942, because of his experience in Artic warfare, he became "Leiter der Winterausbildung" in the Kommandoamt der Waffen SS in Berlin. In April 1942, he attended a course at the Panzer-Truppenschule des Heeres. (Döberitz-Wunsdorf).
In February 1943 commander of PzGrenRgt 1 / PzGrenDiv "Hohenstaufen". Promoted to Standartenführer in June 1943. Became regimental commander of GEbirgs-Jäger-Regiment 13 / Frw. Gebirgs-Division "Prinz Eugen" in February 1944. Wounded in April 1945, captured by the Americans at "Lazarett Traunstein" on the 15 May 1945. Worked at the optics firm "Carl Zeiss" after the war.
