    I have seen it for first time in the 90s - no idea about the faker's nationality,sorry.

    they go back to the mid 70s,all them zeltban that was cut up to make these things. ect.

    So they were made out of original fabric, did I got you well Harry?

    I think when it is written "made from a zeltbahn", what is really meant is - " made from leftover zeltbahn material".
    There is not enough fabric in a zeltbahn shape ( with its many buttonholes, panels & stitching etc... ) for one to be pulled apart to make a smock. For sure, ones were used for helmet covers and M43 caps, but not a jacke.

    Indeed, thank you, that I found out as well, I was rather asking if it's good repro fabric, or , as you have meant above an original fabric roll leftover, because I haven't dealt with this particular piece before.
