Hey everyone,

Just interested to see if these buttons are worth buying from a fellow collector.

I personally have never seen them before.

Any insight on them and whether they are worth it or not?

Colleague Hritz is the button king. I would solicit his opinion. Might I express a shadow of a doubt as concerns the RZM/SS marks.

They are for the early M34 overseas cap.

They appear to have been in a fire or otherwise damaged. I would like to see the maker number, on the reverse, but I cannot. All I see is the RZM and SS marks.

The poor quality of the crimping of the button cover, to the back-plate give me some discomfort.

The fromt skull pattern appears correct, but the maker marks are of great importance to determine authenticity.

Robert Hassler has what I am sure are two authentic grey buttons for the grey cap on his website in nice, clear pictures.

I think these cap devices have become a magnet for the fakers, who are busily studying the images we post and reverse engineering them.

The above assertion is based on eight or so years of watching these web sites and the thousands and thousand of objects that emerge here.

Both buttons are fakes.

They look promising from the front, but the backs give them away for what they are.

I had thought so. The RZM/ SS marks are off. There is no contract number at all here, it seems. Pfui. The daggers and/or lord of the flies website had in their time photo essays in detail on this regalia.
