Hi people. I have some discussion with someone regarding a ‹ collartab.

I was told some time ago here on WRF that these tabs only existed in bullion.
    Is that correct?

So, is the attached picture a genuine cloth piece?
What I notice is the fact that the ‹ isnt nice centered in the middle of the tab.
I also read that the tab was only used for a very short period of time as for 6 months...

Hey Krisse wish I could be of more help as I am unfamiliar with these tabs. But with with what little information I was able to attain, I can only agree with your own personal personal observations. According to Mr D'Alquen in post 9, these were only in use for 6 months. With them being early and scarce I cannot see many variations out there, so originals only being in bullion makes perfect sense to me. The one you posted on the garment looks machine embroidered and of a different black background material, a rather rough wool and as you point out not centered on the tab. Here's images I pulled offline of a tab I would personally consider original and the link to the sticky thread of Mr. Delich's example. Best regards.

Thank you very much Brian. These were also the only examples that I could find on the internet.
I hope someone else can bring more information on this tab.
Thanks again and best regards gleichweiss.

No worries Krisse. I m hoping to kick off the discussion that will lead to more information coming to light, and giving the thread a bump. In any event a rare and obscure example and a good opportunity to learn something new. Best regards.
