This book came out around the same time, and is also excellent.
was the open collar more popular than the turtle neck?
Has anybody seen an example of the W.u.V.-hauptamt cufftitle mentioned in the Angolia image posted above, or any period reference to it? I certainly haven't. As far as I know the Verwaltung office didn't gain Hauptamt status until 1939 (when the V.u.W-hauptamt cufftitle was introduced) so I can't really see a title being issued in 1936 with that designation.
Might I also ask if you, as a fine researcher, have seen a document (Waffen SS price list) as I enclose here in an earlier date? The authors at Dachau refer to a 1941 version.
I am familiar with the other 1934-1938 or so price lists.
I do not have the 1941 price list I'm afraid. I have 1934-1939 and assorted amendments together with the 1942 version you have just acquired. I have only seen the 1941 version referenced in Mollo, but without a citation that could help me find it. If you let me know the specific Dachau reference to which you refer that might help me locate it.
In looking at the Loerner portrait again I suspect, although only a fragment of the first letter is visible, that the cufftitle is "Reichsfuehrung-SS" which was introduced to replace all the Hauptamt titles.
