Untersturmführer collar insignia, found at antique mall today

I picked this up at an antique mall today for practically nothing. I mainly collect US items, but I couldnt pass this up, even if it turns out to be a reproduction. I have a couple others that I'm fairly certain are fakes, but this one just has a different look and feel to it. Its also just slightly flimsy, whereas my others are very stiff.

I'd really appreciate any opinions.

I do believe it is a reproduction..in fact I have a 1980s repro with the same pips on it.

I agree. The material is too course and the buckram too thick.

In its ideal state, badge cloth is 100% woolen and of a particular hand. By ideal state, I mean in the years prior to the cheapening of textiles, but this cheapening began already well before 1939. I cannot generalize about wartime textiles, as they are not my area.
