Varieties. The image is of 1939, and the cap with the leather peak is a few years older, of course, which is to say that these persons
did not just run out to buy a new cap as soon as the model was altered, as Wim teaches us, in the years from 1933 until 1939.
I have no idea how often these persons got a new cap or changed the neusilber badges. You can
see that the man with the leather peaked cap kept his Husaren badge and got the new Hoheitszeichen
and whether the splints stabbed the moire or satin lining is a question in oblivion.
The real question is where were these people when this latter picture was taken....i.e. Wilhelmsplatz, after May 1945
