I agree with you in so much as the quality and workmanship there is on these shoulder boards. But I have been collecting for over 35 years, and in that time I have never encountered "later" style boards with "early" style embroidered motif. The chain stitching is the type encountered on period pieces, and I was wondering if this may have been done privately, perhaps for walking out? The boards themselves display characteristics of original pieces, and I do like the complete ensemble.
