Your piece does not appear to be of the right textile, and it seems far too white to me, actually, that is, of a modern textile versus one in use at the time.

However, the above is just a guess.

Surely without exception, white textiles of the era turn either very yellow or ever, ever so slightly yellow, but they are seldom snow white.
    damit, basta.

Bob Coleman will be the best answer about that tunic I think...

In so many things that loom before us, I turn to Bob Coleman, a good friend and a person of balanced and sound judgment.

The Shea site has the Ortlepp uniform, that of a prominent Thuringnian SS man, and its appearance is entirely representative of such objects. I think these white tunics have long been faked, and of inferior textiles.... The Beaver book has a number of such authentic tunics, not the least of which are the Wolff and RFSS pieces.

    Happy white foetid textiles.

Also Jenkins has for sale the proper shoulder board to make the Ortlepp uniform more whole, so run on down and scoop it up...!

I do not like the material of the tunic nor that of the rank collar tab.

    Cheers, Ade.
